2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Price & Release date

Jaguar is working on its new performance SUV, trying to make it as best as they can because in this segment the competition is very stiff. With the likes of Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Mercedes GLC 63, Porsche Macan Turbo, and BMW X3 M breathing at its neck it’s understandable. The ace in the sleeve for 2019 Jaguar F-pace SVR is its 5.0-liter V-8 powertrain which has 500 horsepower under its belt.

The most significant change is happening under the skin, but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be changes on the outside. The second big difference from regular version is more bulky and aggressive body. The latest set of spy photos shows us a nearly production-ready vehicle. The prototype was caught conducting tests at Nurburgring. Despite wearing an all-body camouflage, it is easy to spot a refreshed bumper with large air vents, and a more pronounced hood. Many automakers these days make the air vents larger in order to cool down the overpowered engines (for example Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk).

But what secludes the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR is that it will feature air vents even on the fenders. At least that’s the way it seems on the spy photos. The reason for why believe that something is happening on this part of the car is that has extra black camo in that area. At the rear end, the bumper is designed so that it can facilitate four tailpipes. For comparison S version of F-Pace has only two.

From the look at these photos, it seems that 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR is ready to drop its camo. The finishing touches are there, and the vehicle should debut in the following months. There are suggestions that it could show its face in only a few days at LA auto show, but that’s far-fetched. More likely options are Detroit and Geneva in 2018.

08/07/2017: The F-Pace is one of the better compact luxury crossovers on the market. The car offers a really nice blend between performance and comfort and it looks on par with the best cars in its class. However, it seems it still lacks the power meant to succeed. In order to change that a new model is going to be released with the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR. This has been a rumor for far too long at this point and even though it hasn’t been actually confirmed by the manufacturer, its test mule has been spied at the Nurburgring. The car is set to come with quite a few improvements over the regular F-Pace in order to cope with the added power. Thanks to it the revised SVR might actually become the fastest compact luxury crossover on the market in which case we are keen to see how the other manufacturers will respond.

The SVR is going to be based on the same aluminum shell as the regular model. There won’t be any upgrades in order to increase the stiffness of the platform which is to be expected. However, the car is likely going to receive thicker anti-roll bars, different bushings as well as an entirely new suspension system. This is expected to boast fully adjustable dampers on which actual coil springs will be installed. The end result is not going to be the most comfortable F-Pace on the market. However, this setup should give the driver the best possible experience while offering tremendous amounts of control over the car.

From the latest spy shots it also looks like the brakes on the car are not going to be the same as on the regular S version. Instead it seems the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR will boast much larger front and rear rotors. On top of that it looks like the front calipers are 4-piston Brembo units, similar to Jaguar’s other high performance vehicles. In the rear on the other hand it seems the car will boast regular single-piston floating calipers but they do seem larger than on the base models.

2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Price & Release date

If we had to guess the release date of 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR at this moment, we would aim at Frankfurt Motor Show. The named show is scheduled for September. This might be early for a finished product, but a completed prototype could be presented. Also, if this doesn’t happen, we definitely can expect it before the end of current year. The sales, on the other hand, will begin sometime in 2018. It is too early to estimate an exact date of dealership arrival. Again, if we had to guess late spring or early summer is the time when it should be available for purchase. The model will be sold as 2019 MY, so this doesn’t come as a surprise.

According to caranddriver.com, the 2019 F-Pace SVR will try to get the better share of the market by coming in cheaper than its rivals. The most notable adversary will be Porsche Macan and its Turbo version. The German performance crossover is priced at hefty $87,400. So, according to an above-mentioned car magazine, the SVR F-Pace will enter the market at $65,000 in an attempt to undercut the Macan Turbo. Another source ( autocar.co.uk) claims that the case will be different. While comparable in luxury, comfort, and performance the two will differ in price. Where in this turn of events the British SUV will be the pricey one. They are stating that 2019 F-Pace SVR will start at $91,000.

The design – Exterior of F-Pace SVR

Even though it was quite heavily camouflaged, the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR prototype did reveal a few interesting details about the look of the car. For starters, it seems that it will actually be based on the S model, so there won’t be anything too dramatic about it. In the back the car features a quad-exhaust system with the exhaust tips mounted towards the center of the car. The roof spoiler seemed to be roughly the same as that on the S while the rear bumper doesn’t seem anything different from what the other versions get. In the front the SVR seems to boast a different grille as well as an entirely new bumper.

This boasts much larger intakes than before that offer a more angular design than those of the S. On top of that it looks like a splitter has been installed, likely in order to give it more downforce at really high speeds. The wheels seem to be 20 or 21 inch rims wrapped in high performance tires. These are likely required in order to clear those massive front rotors.

Inside the Cabin – 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Interior

The interior of the cabin is more than likely going to be mostly identical to the F-Pace S. The only real upgrade on the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR is going to be the car’s instrument cluster which will be new. Also, the front seats should be more supportive but these won’t look that much different either.

Under the hood – 2019 F-Pace SVR Engine

Instead of a tiny 3.0 liter V6, the F-Pace SVR is going to be powered by a massive 5.0 liter supercharged V8 gasoline engine. Even though it is known to make anything between 500 and well over 600 horsepower, the one in the SVR should be right around the middle. Most rumors seem to suggest the car will boast 575 horsepower and over 500 lb-ft of torque. As standard it will come with an active exhaust, so it should be as loud as the F-Type sports car. However, the F-Pace will have the added bonus of standard all wheel drive. With the help of an 8 speed automatic the car should actually become the fastest crossover of its type which is not an easy feat to achieve.
